Figuring out to how dress after having a baby can be difficult because your body takes time to get back to normal. The saying ‘9 months on, 9 months off’ is true! I’ve put together three looks that can be worn right after baby or several months after baby.
Look 1 – Tops with Flow
Find tops that have some movement (avoid skin tight). I like this tomato red one and love it paired with some legging jeans or other pants with some stretch. That way you can still have the look of jeans or pants and still be comfortable. Because, let’s be honest, fitting into your normal jeans right after your baby is born is not realistic (unless you’re Giselle!).
Look 2 – Open Sweater
The idea of an oversized open sweater is a great idea after baby is born. It gives you coverage and can be belted to define the waist. I paired it with leather panel leggings since leather is especially popular for fall. Add a lightweight scarf (it can double as a nursing cover) and finish the look with ankle boot wedges.
Look 3 – Maxi Skirt
Maxi skirts are perfect when you are pregnant or right after having a baby – especially ones with an elastic waistband. Pair it with a looser T-shirt in a v-neck. The key to making this look work is to tuck the shirt into the skirt to show off the waist you now have. Complete the look by adding some ankle boots, and when it gets colder, add a sweater and belt.
