Berries are one of the best parts of summer, and they also happen to be amazing beauty- and nutrition-boosters. Raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries are packed with fiber, which offsets their naturally occurring sugars and is key for gut health, weight loss, and digestion. The flavonoids in berries also help shrink fat cells, reduce blood-sugar swings, and ease inflammation, while antioxidants protect the skin from free radicals. A few berries a day is a great way to keep your skin healthy and glowing, and these 3 smoothies combine the power of strawberries, blackberries and raspberries ingredients for smoothies with other beauty-boosting ingredients for healthy treats you’ll want to sip all summer long.
Summer Love Smoothie
Brazil nuts are packed with selenium which, combined with raspberries’ and coconut oil’s beauty benefits, helps protect skin from sun damage and retains its elasticity. Only consume a few Brazil nuts per day, though—the selenium is extremely concentrated.
Ingredients
- 2 cups kale
- 1 cups frozen raspberries
- 1 1/2 cups water or non-dairy milk coconut, hemp or almond milk
- 1/2 banana
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon shredded coconut flakes
- 3 Brazil nuts
Instructions
Place all ingredients in blender and mix until smooth.
Sweet Sunshine Smoothie
This smoothie has a nice subtle chocolate flavor (and even more antioxidants) thanks to cacao—sub in raw cocoa powder if needed, and omit the cilantro if desired.

- 1 cup spinach or kale
- 1 handful of cilantro
- 1 1/2 cups water or non-dairy milk coconut, hemp, or almond milk
- 1/2 cup frozen blackberries
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon raw cacao
- ½ frozen banana

Those all sound delish, especially the Berry Beauty Smoothie. A couple months ago I brought a Nutri Ninja in to work and we’ve been making smoothies a few times a week. Will have to give these recipes a try.
These berry smoothies look so delicious that I almost don’t believe that they are healthy.. and contain kale! Definitely a recipe I can see myself making.
