There’s one thing I never leave the house without wearing – under eye concealer. Pants are optional; eye concealer is not. I’ve tried just about every method and cream to hide my dark circles to no avail. Despite covering them with a boat load of concealer and distracting from them with bright red lipstick, my eyes always make me look old and tired.
Parsley eye mask for dark circles
After reading recently that parsley can work to help erase dark eye circles, I had to try it. A cure from a bunch of parsley that costs 99 cents? Really? Yep, the vitamin C, chlorophyll and vitamin K in parsley help lighten skin discoloration, diminish age spots and reduce puffiness.
To make your mask, roughly chop a handful of parsley (preferably organic). In a small bowl, grind the leaves with a wooden spoon. Like muddling a drink, you want to grind the parsley until it releases the juice in the leaves.
Pour a tablespoon of hot water over the parsley and stir the mixture together. You can also combine the parsley with yogurt. When the water has cooled, use 2 cotton balls to soak up the juice. Lie down and keep the cotton ball under your eyes for 10 minutes.
Do this twice a week to reduce discoloration. The effects aren’t immediate though; it may take a couple of weeks to see the changes. I’ve done 4 treatments, and the parsley (or the naps I take while wearing the mask) is working! Let me know if you’ve ever used parsley before or if you give it a try!

I use cucumber slices under my eyes – and they do work, but they sting, and are wet and cold! I hate that! They work OK but in addition to cucumber, try yogurt as well. Its still wet and goopey. Product wise, the Made from Earth Cucumber Gel works when you dont want to get cold and wet with real cucumbers and yogurt. I use the Made from Earth Cucumber Gel once a day for the last month, and I have noticed improvements in the wrinkles around my eyes, and I look less tired in general.
I am prone to having dark circles and eye bags so have tried many products with not much success. The Made from Earth Cucumber Gel is the first product that has made any real visible difference and I am amazed! You only have to use a tiny amount around the eyes and it feels wonderfully cool and soothing.
It has a lovely fresh smell of cucumber and the cream easily absorbs into the skin. After a very short amount of time, my eyes feel and look less tired and more vibrant. I bought online at Made from Earth’s website.
Can u share the link where can I get the product
I am definitely going to try this! I grow parsley in my garden and don’t use enough so this will be fantastic to try.
I have been doing this for one week now, I do it every day (just for right now) I will start doing the parsley treatment 2 x next week – and I have Seen incredible results. My eyes do not look so tired and the dark circles are slowly fading away. I highly recommend this….
PS I just do the parsley and water for now
Did it work?
This is a great idea! I use to hear that cucumber helps to with dark circles too, but I want to grow up my own parsley at home and to try this. Thanks for the tip :)
Can I used curled parsley instead of flat
So, has anyone who tried this seen actual, visible results? I’ve tried just about everything imaginable, except this, to get rid of mine and nothing has helped.
my vegie patch is overrun with parsley, every google tip I searched to find how to ‘not waste it”, hadn’t turned up much. your parsley use is something I will definitely try. thank you.
I have THE worst dark circles. No matter how many naps or what concealer I use, the circles are always there. I’m definitely going to try this out as a way to erase those suckers once and for all and for minimal output.
In the pics what you are showing it appears to be coriander….
Yeah I noticed this too.. So is it parsley I need to go and buy a trolley full of, or coriander??
It looks like it is large flat leaf parsley
I’ve never bought coriander so I’m not sure what that looks like but this was definitely parsley!
It looks like flat parsley
I could not have found this post at a better time! I picked up parsley instead of cilantro at the market the other day and I didn’t know what to do with it. Thank you for the tip.
Hi Stephanie, I just found your blog via Oh My Veggies and this is SOOO what I need! The bags under my eyes could hold my weekly groceries so I’m definitely going to give this parsley trick a go.
I had no idea! I use cornflower water and it’s working wonders, but you made me want to try parsley now! :)
I’ve never heard of cornflower water – now I’m going to have to go Google that!
can you do a post on your favorite concealer?
I’ve been meaning to do a how-to on covering up dark circles forever! But my favorite concealer is Benefit’s Erase Paste.
Greens have healing properties for inside the body and out.
What an awesome trick! Dark circles are definitely a problem of mine!

Right now my under eye circles are so dark it looks like I got punched in the face, so I am definitely trying this! I always have leftover parsley from recipes…
And I bet you grow your own parsley! Sadly I’ve managed to kill the mint and cilantro I planted earlier this year. At least the basil is hanging on!
Ooh I will definitely try this Stephanie. I too suffer from seriously dark circles. I have a stack of parsley growing so here’s to free beauty treatments!
This is a great idea, will have to try it, I hate dealing with under eye circles too :(
I didn’t know parsley could be used this way…have to give it a try too.
I never knew something like this worked. Awesome tip!
I’ve never heard of using parsley in this way – now I know what to do with the leftover bunches in the fridge!
