Increase water intake. Hydrate from the inside out and ditch the caffeine, alcohol and sugary drinks. Our bodies are made up of 60% water, and skin is the largest organ of the body.
Add a humidifier. Indoor heating can sap moisture everywhere, while adding a humidifier to your bedroom will add moisture back into the air and help with not only dry skin, but diminish allergies and sinus problems. Exfoliate. Too often exfoliation is forgotten during winter months. But regular exfoliation will help moisturizers and lotions penetrate better. Consistently use gentle scrubs weekly and add a chemical exfoliant to your routine as well.
Warm, not hot. Hot water can dry out natural oils in the skin. Keep your bath or shower water at a comfortable, warm temperature.
