This week I had my first solo car ride with all three kids crammed in the backseat. Yeah, maybe I should have started with a quick run to the grocery rather than a 4-hour trek to Nashville. There really ought to be a parent badge for bringing 3 kids into a fast food restaurant bathroom and then breastfeeding in the parking lot. When Caroline told me she had to go potty again – with 70 miles to go – my response was “hold it.”
People kept telling me that their 3rd child completed their family. I can’t say I’ve had that blissful “aha!” moment yet, but in 6 short weeks Samuel does feel like an integral part of the family. He is such a sweetie. He lets me cart him everywhere without much of a peep and even sleeps through his brother and sister’s fights.
We’re starting to get settled into our new home and that feels good. Bringing my little family home to Nashville makes me feel complete. There’s been a lot of change but it’s good change.
We’ll be unpacking lots of boxes and hanging pictures this weekend. What are you up to? Have a great weekend!

I live just outside of Nashville in Smyrna. I had a hard time with my 3rd child too. He changed the entire dynamic of our family. But of course, my family wouldn’t be complete without him!
I don’t know when the blog was updated, but I love how cheery it is! :)
So sweet! Three is a lot to handle in a fast food restaurant!
I am getting the husband to hang up more pics, and clean up the garage. I am working n a few projects, then taking next week off and going to the lake with my girls.
Aw, I think you are doing such a great job Steph! 3 kids was a very big adjustment for me. I’m excited to hear about the new home, new area & new adventures.
I read a funny article the other day about girl scout badges and I agree with you, we should have parent badges and you’d totally get one for this! What a trooper!! Good luck with the unpacking and stuffs! Happy Friday!
I don’t know Stephanie. I’m still waiting for that a-ha moment with two. I’m not sure I could’ve handled three. I wanted four before I had one. How quickly that number changed! LOL
