This DIY clay hair mask is chock full of hair helpers like chamomile, neem, and castor oil to soften locks and nourish the scalp.

  • Wooden or plastic spoon
  • Small ceramic bowl

  • Pour the clay powder into a ceramic bowl.
  • Add chamomile hydrosol and stir well with a wooden or plastic spoon.
  • Add the neem and castor oils. Stir again.
  • Take a scoop of mask and rub it between the palms of your hands. Apply it liberally to the scalp, and use your fingers to work it through to the ends. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes before shampooing and conditioning as usual.
    How to make a clay hair mask

Notes

If the mask dries before you've finished applying it, lightly spritz with water to dampen strands and reactivate the clay.
When you're done, you might want to shampoo twice to get all the clay out. Make sure to follow up with a good conditioner, and then style as usual.
