Beeswax Wraps

Yield: 6 wraps
Author: Stephanie Pollard

  • 16 ounces beeswax beads
  • 1 yard organic cotton fabric
  • Pinking shears so the fabric won't fray
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Brush of some sort

  • Wash and dry your fabric.
  • With pinking shears, cut the fabric into various sizes. For sandwiches and snacks, I have found that a 12x12" square works well. For jars and bowls, I like to use circular wraps in various sizes.
  • Preheat the oven to 250ºF. Lay the fabric on a parchment-lined baking sheet and sprinkle liberally with wax beads (I used about 1/3 cup wax per 12" piece of fabric).
  • Place in the oven and bake for 10 minutes, or until wax is completely melted. Use a food-safe brush to spread the wax evenly over the fabric and coat any missed areas.
  • Remove fabric from the tray and lay it on a clean piece of parchment. Let cool completely before using.
  • To clean, rinse wraps in cool water and gently wash using diluted dish soap.
