Relaxation Tincture

A blend of calming herbs and CBD oil makes this tincture the perfect remedy for stressful days.

Equipment

  • One 8-ounce glass jar with lid
  • Two 2-ounce glass dropper bottles

  • Fill an 8-ounce glass jar half way with a 1:1:1 ratio of dried chamomile, lemon balm, and valerian root.
    Add herbs to jar to make a tincture
  • Fill the jar the rest of the way with vodka or rum. Do not use rubbing alcohol or non-consumable alcohol unless you plan to use this topically. Put the lid on and shake well.
    Cover herbs with alcohol to make a tincture
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for 4 to 6 weeks, shaking every couple of days. 
    Let herbs infuse for 4-6 weeks
  • After 4–6 weeks, strain the tincture through cheesecloth or a fine-mesh strainer.

  • Transfer the tincture to a dropper bottle and add your CBD oil. Gently shake to combine.

Notes

Rather than using specific amounts of dried herbs, I typically just eyeball a 1:1:1 ratio so I can make as little or as much as I like. To do this, fill your jar halfway with 1 part chamomile, 1 part lemon balm, and 1 part valerian. It doesnt have to be exact! Then cover the rest of the way with alcohol.
Its best to stop the steeping process somewhere between 4-6 weeks to prevent the herbs from releasing a sour, bitter flavor.
To use, shake well and place a few drops under the tongue whenever youre feeling stressed.
Your tincture should last a couple of years if stored in a cool, dry place.
