Lemon Lavender Rug Freshening Powder
This homemade Lemon Lavender Rug Freshening Powder uses borax, baking soda, lavender buds and lemon essential oil to make carpets smell like new.

Equipment
- Small bowl
- whisk
- Glass jar with lid
Materials
- 2 cups baking soda
- 1 cup borax
- 1 tablespoon lavender flowers either whole or ground
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 10 drops lemon essential oil
Instructions
- Add everything to a medium sized bowl and whisk to combine.
- Transfer to a powdered sugar shaker jar or just use a regular jar.
- Do your best to disperse the powder over the rug by hand. Let sit for an hour before vacuuming up.

Notes
Store leftover powder in an airtight container. Use within 1 month.
To make your carpet refresher last longer, leave out the fresh lemon zest.
