Reap the healing benefits of cocoa butter with this DIY after-sun butter recipe.
Yield: 8 ounces
Over a double boiler, slowly melt cocoa butter, coconut oil and beeswax. Remove from heat and allow to cool for about 5 to 10 minutes. (You can also combine the oils in small bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals until melted.)
Add the aloe vera, honey, vitamin E and essential oils, stirring well to combine.
Pour the mixture into a container and let cool completely.
To use, apply a thin layer to inflamed skin and let sink in. Stop using if you notice any additional irritation or redness.
Use within 6 months to ensure the oils stay fresh.
