7. Celery Juice
Despite being considered a boring veggie for many years (isn’t it just crunchy air?), celery is actually very nutrient-dense. It’s low in calories, high in fiber and water, and rich in vitamins and minerals such as vitamin K, vitamin C, beta carotene, folate, calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium.
What’s most impressive about celery is its phytochemical content. It is known to be an incredibly powerful antioxidant [source]. Specifically, celery contains a wide variety of antioxidant polyphenols, which prevent cellular damage by neutralizing free radicals, boosting the immune system, modulating inflammation, and protecting against disease [source].
So celery’s newfound “celeb status” is well-deserved based on the fact that it is loaded with beneficial micronutrients and phytochemicals that are the foundation of a health-promoting diet. It contains anti-inflammatory properties, lowers blood pressure [source], has been shown in studies to lower serum lipids [source] and glucose levels in pre-diabetics [source], and it was even shown to protect the stomach lining from ulcers in animal studies [source].
The celery juice craze was started by Anthony William, aka the Medical Medium, who says it is “one of the most powerful and healing juices we can drink." To really reap the benefits of celery juice, William suggests that celery be juiced (no pulp), consumed on its own (no lemon, ice, etc.) and on an empty stomach first thing in the morning at least 30 minutes before breakfast.
Before you go...
A green juice is a great way to detox daily. But don't forget your other liquids! Consume cleansing lemon water every morning upon rising. Stay hydrated by drinking half your body weight in ounces of water daily. For a boost in cellular regeneration, add 1 teaspoon of chlorophyll, spirulina, or any green powder to 10 ounces of water 1 to 3 times a day or try this chlorophyll limeade.

Thank you so much for these wonderful detox recipes.

I love having new mixes for my homemade kombucha to flavor in. Now to set up a schedule for what to do first. Yummy
Sharon says
I don’t have a juicer so. Can I just make this in a Ninja blender? I imagine it won’t be smooth but I would still get the nutrients right?
Gireesh says
Thats correct. You will get the nutrients. The only thing with the blender is that the juice also contains loads of fiber which makes it difficult for a person to consume in large quantities. Nevertheless it is a good start for a healthy lifestyle.
Holly Dreigon says
Could you blend the ingredients together in a high powered blender, and then strain it?
