There’s some crazy stuff going in coffee these days, and we are so here for it. Turmeric and bone broth? Why not. Beets and ginger? Bring it. But raise your hand if you never thought you’d be adding mushrooms to your morning latte. This morning elixir is not just mushrooms though. You’ll also get matcha, collagen and one of our favorite adaptogens for a delicious superfood, brain-fog-eliminating latte.
Some of us are extra slow starting the day. We are decidedly not morning people. Instead of relying on just coffee to wake up your brain, this elixir helps you shake the tiredness and restore mental clarity without the caffeine overload.
Matcha Mushroom Latte for Morning Clarity
Reishi mushrooms not only give your immune system and mood a boost, they can also improve your memory and help protect the brain as it ages. Lion’s Mane is a must-have brain food. It supports a healthy memory and stimulates the growth of brain cells to help prevent cognitive decline. Maca root powder is an energy boosting adaptogen that improves learning and memory.
And then there’s matcha, the zen-inducing superfood which has been linked to enhanced focus.
We used Vital Proteins Matcha Collagen, a brilliant combination of matcha and collagen. Sourced from Japanese matcha green tea that’s loaded with antioxidants, matcha collagen delivers a dose of L-theanine, an amino acid that helps to improve focus and mental alertness, and caffeine, which boosts energy and cognitive performance.
Along with the benefits of matcha, you’re getting high quality collagen from grass-fed, pasture-raised cows. We’ve talked a lot about collagen, the protein in the body that’s responsible for maintaining stronger nails, thicker hair, and clearer skin. Collagen is the perfect addition to your morning brew for another reason too.
